Howell Rebels (Farmingdale, NJ) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Middletown South Eagles (Middletown, NJ), 45-39 in a league bout.

With the victory, Howell upgrades its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Southern Regional (Manahawkin, NJ) to play the Rams in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 20. The Rams come into the bout with a record of 3-1.

Next up, the Eagles play the Manchester Township Hawks (Lakehurst, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 26. Middletown South will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Hawks come into the bout with a 3-1 record after their 58-44 non-league win over Toms River East (Toms River, NJ).
