Illinois High School Basketball - Clinton sneaks past Deer Creek-Mackinaw

December 21, 2024: Clinton, IL 61727

The Clinton Maroons (Clinton, IL) basketball edged the visiting Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs (Mackinaw, IL), 55-48 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Maroons now possess a 6-5 record. They play next when they travel to Paxton-Buckley-Loda for a non-league bout on Friday, December 27. Clinton will play a Panthers team coming off a 57-31 non-league win over Manteno (Manteno, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Deer Creek-Mackinaw falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Chiefs travel to Illinois Valley Central (Chillicothe, IL) to play the Grey Ghosts in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 26. The Grey Ghosts go into the bout with a record of 2-7. Illinois Valley Central lost 74-70 in their recent non-league bout against Tremont (Tremont, IL)
