The crowd at Saturday's league challenge between the Malakoff Tigers (Malakoff, TX) and the visiting Quitman Bulldogs (Quitman, TX), observed Malakoff's basketball team overwhelm Quitman by a score of 47-21.

The Tigers (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Edgewood (Edgewood, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 3A Region II District 15 challenge with a 7-9 record. In their last challenge, Edgewood was routed by Sam Rayburn (Ivanhoe, TX), 36-31, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Bulldogs battle the Winona Wildcats (Winona, TX) in a 3A Region II District 15 challenge, on Monday, December 30. Quitman will attempt to improve on its 4-14 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 3-12 record after their 79-44 league loss to Grand Saline (Grand Saline, TX).
