In Friday's league test, the Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX) basketball squad defeated the visiting Spring Hill Panthers (Longview, TX), by a score of 33-25.

Next, the Bulldogs clash with the Kilgore Bulldogs (Kilgore, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 test, on Friday, January 3. Carthage will attempt to improve on its 12-13 season record. The Bulldogs come into the test with a 5-9 record after their 40-37 league win over Cumberland Academy (Tyler, TX).

The Panthers (14-6) will now prepare for their test against Harmony (Big Sandy, TX). The Eagles come into the non-league test with a 10-8 record. In their last test, Harmony went down by Hawkins (Hawkins, TX), 53-29, in a non-league test.
