In Saturday's league test, the Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) ice hockey squad tipped the visiting Pilgrim Patriots (Warwick, RI), by a tally of 5-4.

Next, the Sentinels face the Bishop Hendricken Hawks (Warwick, RI) in a State Championship Division test, on Monday, December 23. Smithfield will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Hawks come into the test with a 0-1 record after their 4-1 league loss to La Salle Academy (Providence, RI).

The Patriots (2-2) will now prepare for their test against Notre Dame Prep (Fairfield, CT). The Lancers come into the non-league test with a 1-1 record. In their last test, Notre Dame Prep nudged St. Joseph (Trumbull, CT), 4-1, in a non-league test.
