Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Wheatland Pirates (Wheatland, CA) and the visiting Bear River Bruins (Grass Valley, CA), saw Wheatland's soccer squad triumph over Bear River by a count of 9-0.

The Pirates (2-3) will now prepare for their battle against Golden Sierra (Garden Valley, CA). The Grizzlies enter the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Golden Sierra was overwhelmed by Placer (Auburn, CA), 5-2, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Bruins battle the Center Cougars (Antelope, CA) in a battle, on Thursday, January 9. Bear River will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record.
