Wellesley Raiders (Wellesley, MA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Braintree Wamps (Braintree, MA), 50-43 in a league bout.

With the victory, Wellesley upgrades its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Raiders host Acton-Boxborough (Acton, MA) to play the Colonials in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 27. The Colonials come into the bout with a record of 2-2. Acton-Boxborough won 71-44 in their recent non-league bout against Wayland (Wayland, MA)

Next up, the Wamps play the Durfee Hilltoppers (Fall River, MA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Braintree will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Hilltoppers come into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 74-57 non-league win over Bishop Connolly (Fall River, MA).
