Maxwell Bears (Maxwell, NM) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Mora Rangers/Rangerettes (Mora, NM), 63-51 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Maxwell upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Bears host Raton (Raton, NM) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 5-3.

Next up, the Rangers/Rangerettes play the Monte Del Sol Charter Dragons (Santa Fe, NM) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 28. Mora will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Dragons come into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 77-19 non-league win over Coronado (Gallina, NM).
