Alabama High School Basketball - Shields nips Monroe County

Shields Panthers (Beatrice, AL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Monroe County Tigers (Monroeville, AL), 46-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Shields upgrades its record to 4-9 on the season. The Panthers host Red Level (Red Level, AL) to play the Tigers in a 1A Area 3 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 7-3. Red Level lost 67-59 in their recent non-league bout against Florala (Florala, AL)

Next up, the Tigers play the W.S. Neal Eagles (East Brewton, AL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 27. Monroe County will attempt to upgrade on its 3-13 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 7-5 record after their 55-41 non-league loss to Jackson (Jackson, AL).
