Chavez Lobos (Houston, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Austin Mustangs (Houston, TX), 54-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Chavez upgrades its record to 7-9 on the season. The Lobos travel to Sterling (Baytown, TX) to play the Rangers in a non-league bout on Friday, December 22. The Rangers go into the bout with a record of 3-13. Sterling lost 63-58 in their recent league bout against Lee (Baytown, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs play the North Forest Bulldogs (Houston, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 28. Austin will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 5-9 record after their 71-65 non-league win over Northside (Houston, TX).
