Simi Valley Pioneers (Simi Valley, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Ventura Cougars (Ventura, CA), 60-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Simi Valley upgrades its record to 8-6 on the season. The Pioneers travel to Taft (Woodland Hills, CA) to play the Toreadors in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 26. The Toreadors go into the bout with a record of 2-2. Taft won 47-37 in their recent non-league bout against Mayfair (Lakewood, CA)

Next up, the Cougars play the Nordhoff Rangers (Ojai, CA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 28. Ventura will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Rangers go into the bout with a 4-9 record after their 90-35 non-league loss to Royal (Simi Valley, CA).
