Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Kearny Komets (San Diego, CA) and the host Southwest EC Eagles (El Centro, CA), saw Kearny's basketball squad hold off Southwest EC by a tally of 54-48.

With the victory, Kearny improves its record to 11-9 on the campaign. The Komets travel to Madison (San Diego, CA) to play the Warhawks in a Central challenge on Friday, January 5. The Warhawks come into the challenge with a record of 4-4.

Next up, the Eagles play the Sunrise Mountain Miners (Las Vegas, NV) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, December 27. Southwest EC will attempt to improve on its 4-7 season record. The Miners come into the challenge with a 6-3 record after their 38-32 non-league win over Somerset Academy Losee (North Las Vegas, NV).
