The Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) basketball edged the host North Myrtle Beach Chiefs (Little River, SC), 43-41 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Pirates now possess a 4-6 record. They play next when they travel to South Brunswick for a non-league bout on Friday, January 3. Topsail will play a Cougars team coming off a 71-20 non-league loss to New Hanover (Wilmington, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, North Myrtle Beach falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Chiefs host Conway (Conway, SC) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Monday, January 6. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 1-0.
