Helena Huskies (Helena, AL) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Blount Leopards (Eight Mile, AL), 63-49 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Helena upgrades its record to 13-3 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Christian Brothers (Memphis, TN) to play the Purple Wave in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 28. The Purple Wave come into the bout with a record of 9-5. Christian Brothers won 59-53 in their recent non-league bout against Sumter Central (York, AL)

Next up, the Leopards play the Theodore Bobcats (Theodore, AL) in a 6A Area 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Blount will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Bobcats come into the bout with a 8-8 record after their 71-44 non-league win over Charles Henderson (Troy, AL).
