McGehee Owls (McGehee, AR) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Monticello Billies (Monticello, AR), 58-57 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, McGehee upgrades its record to 10-3 on the campaign. The Owls travel to Rison (Rison, AR) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 28. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 0-10.

Next up, the Billies play the Warren Lumberjacks (Warren, AR) in a 4A Region 8 bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Monticello will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record.
