Winnisquam Bears (Tilton, NH) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Newfound Regional Bears (Bristol, NH), 59-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Winnisquam upgrades its record to 2-3 on the season. The Bears travel to Belmont Hill (Belmont, MA) to clash with the Sextants in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Sextants go into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Bears clash with the White Mountains Spartans (Whitefield, NH) in a Division III bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Newfound Regional will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 3-3 record after their 48-31 league win over Newfound Regional (Bristol, NH).
