North Side Gators (Shelby, MS) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Shaw Warriors (Shaw, MS), 58-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, North Side upgrades its record to 10-7 on the season. The Gators travel to Coahoma County (Clarksdale, MS) to clash with the Red Panthers in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 28. The Red Panthers go into the bout with a record of 14-4. Coahoma County won 39-29 in their recent non-league bout against West Tallahatchie (Webb, MS)

Next up, the Warriors clash with the Simmons Blue Devils (Hollandale, MS) in a 1A Region 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Shaw will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 4-7 record after their 69-66 non-league win over Leflore County (Itta Bena, MS).
