Maui Sabers (Kahului, HI) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Baldwin Bears (Wailuku, HI), 42-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Maui upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season. The Sabers travel to Lahainaluna (Lahaina, HI) to play the Lunas in a Maui I bout on Friday, December 29. The Lunas go into the bout with a record of 5-5. Lahainaluna won 45-35 in their recent league bout against Kamehameha Maui (Pukalani, HI)

Next up, the Bears play the King Kekaulike Na Ali'i (Pukalani, HI) in a Maui I bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Baldwin will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Na Ali'i go into the bout with a 0-5 record after their 42-30 league loss to Kamehameha Maui (Pukalani, HI).
