Rice Bulldogs (Rice, TX) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Mildred Eagles (Corsicana, TX), 53-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Rice upgrades its record to 8-4 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Frost (Frost, TX) to play the Polar Bears in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Polar Bears go into the bout with a record of 16-3. Frost won 77-44 in their recent non-league bout against Kerens (Kerens, TX)

Next up, the Eagles play the Kemp Yellowjackets (Kemp, TX) in a 3A Region III District 18 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Mildred will attempt to upgrade on its 9-11 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a 1-7 record after their 62-53 league loss to Palmer (Palmer, TX).
