In Friday's non-league contest, the host Elk Mound Mounders basketball team scored a good 71-61 triumph over the Altoona Railroaders.
The Mounders (5-1) will now prepare for their contest against Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau (Galesville, WI). The Red Hawks go into the non-league contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau topped Northwestern (Maple, WI), 63-57, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Railroaders confront the Fall Creek Crickets (Fall Creek, WI) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 3. Altoona will attempt to better on its 2-4 season record.
