The St. Thomas More Cougars (Lafayette, LA) basketball were winner over the visiting Westgate Tigers (New Iberia, LA), 61-51 in Friday's league bout.

The Cougars now possess a 9-2 record. They play next when they travel to Archbishop Hannan for a non-league bout on Friday, January 3. St. Thomas More will play a Hawks team coming off a 75-42 non-league win over Wright (New Orleans, LA). The Hawks record now stands at 15-4.

With the loss, Westgate falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Lee (Baytown, TX) to play the Ganders in a non-league bout on Friday, December 27. The Ganders go into the bout with a record of 3-14. Lee lost 77-27 in their recent league bout against Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, TX)
