Covenant Christian Eagles (Tuscumbia, AL) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Eagles (Decatur, AL), 56-53 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Covenant Christian upgrades its record to 11-3 on the campaign. The Eagles host Shoals Christian (Florence, AL) to play the Flame in a 1A Area 16 bout on Friday, January 6. The Flame come into the bout with a record of 10-4.

Next up, the Eagles play the Covenant Christian Eagles (Tuscumbia, AL) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 12. Decatur Heritage Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record.
