Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Gallia Academy Blue Devils (Gallipolis, OH) and the host Fairfield Union Falcons (Lancaster, OH), saw Gallia Academy's basketball squad hold off Fairfield Union by a count of 36-34.

With the victory, Gallia Academy upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Blue Devils travel to Fairland (Proctorville, OH) to play the Dragons in a Ohio Valley challenge on Tuesday, January 3. The Dragons come into the challenge with a record of 6-3.

Next up, the Falcons play the Sheridan Generals (Thornville, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 30. Fairfield Union will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record. The Generals come into the challenge with a 4-4 record after their 47-43 non-league win over Licking Valley (Newark, OH).
