The Jenkins Cavaliers basketball team scored 64 points and held the visiting Phelps Hornets to 33 in the Cavaliers non-league triumph on Wednesday.
The Cavaliers now sport a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hurley for a non-league contest on Thursday, December 29. Jenkins will meet a Rebels team coming off a 72-53 non-league win over Castlewood (Castlewood, VA). The Rebels record now stands at 2-4.
The Hornets (3-6) will now prepare for their contest against Shelby Valley (Pikeville, KY). The Wildcats enter the non-league contest with a 5-3 record. In their last contest, Shelby Valley was routed by Chilhowie (Chilhowie, VA), 49-48, in a non-league contest.
