Mohawk Area Warriors (Bessemer, PA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Shenango Wildcats (New Castle, PA), 61-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mohawk Area upgrades its record to 8-0 on the season. The Warriors host Lincoln (Ellwood City, PA) to clash with the Wolverine in a WPIAL 3A 1 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Wolverine go into the bout with a record of 9-2. Lincoln won 58-37 in their recent non-league bout against Mercer (Mercer, PA)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Hopewell Vikings (Aliquippa, PA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 29. Shenango will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 4-7 record after their 34-26 non-league loss to Riverside (Ellwood City, PA).
