Nixon-Smiley Mustangs (Nixon, TX) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Sacred Heart Indians (Hallettsville, TX), 56-29 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Nixon-Smiley upgrades its record to 11-2 on the season. The Mustangs host Jourdanton (Jourdanton, TX) to play the Indians/Squaws in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 28. The Indians/Squaws go into the bout with a record of 7-7. Jourdanton won 57-54 in their recent non-league bout against Comfort (Comfort, TX)

Next up, the Indians play the Our Lady of the Hills Hawks (Kerrville, TX) in a TAPPS 2A District 5 bout, on Thursday, January 5. Sacred Heart will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record.
