Penasco Panthers (Penasco, NM) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Los Alamos Hilltoppers (Los Alamos, NM), 59-55 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Penasco upgrades its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Hope Christian (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Huskies in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 29. The Huskies come into the bout with a record of 5-4. Hope Christian won 62-31 in their recent non-league battle against Sandia Prep (Albuquerque, NM)

The Hilltoppers (4-5) will now prepare for their battle against Capital (Santa Fe, NM). The Jaguars come into the non-league battle with a 1-10 record. In their last battle, Capital was nudged by Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM), 44-20, in a non-league battle.
