Georgia High School Basketball - Mount Vernon tipped by Alexander

In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting Alexander Cougars basketball team scored a tight 60-55 triumph over the Mount Vernon Mustangs.

In their next game, the Cougars meet the Douglas County Tigers (Douglasville, GA) in a AAAAAA Region 5 match, on Friday, January 5. Alexander will attempt to better on its 12-1 season record. The Tigers enter the match with a 7-5 record after their 68-64 non-league win over Troup County (LaGrange, GA).

With the defeat, Mount Vernon moves to 8-7 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Mount Pisgah Christian (Johns Creek, GA) to meet the Patriots in a A D1 Region 6 match on Tuesday, January 9. The Patriots enter the match with a record of 5-10.
