Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions (Kingsville, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting John Paul II Centurions (Corpus Christi, TX), 66-60 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Santa Gertrudis Academy upgrades its record to 10-6 on the season. The Lions travel to Cedar Creek (Cedar Creek, TX) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 13-6. Cedar Creek won 69-50 in their recent non-league bout against Rockport-Fulton (Rockport, TX)

Next up, the Centurions play the Poth Pirates (Poth, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 28. John Paul II will attempt to upgrade on its 11-12 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 7-1 record after their 53-47 non-league win over Boerne (Boerne, TX).
