In Thursday's non-league match, the host Laton Mustangs basketball team scored a tight 27-26 triumph over the Woodlake Tigers.

In their next game, the Mustangs face the Avenal Buccaneers (Avenal, CA) in a non-league match, on Friday, December 29. Laton will attempt to move on its 1-10 season record. The Buccaneers enter the match with a 5-8 record after their 34-32 non-league win over Riverdale Christian (Riverdale, CA).
