Picayune Maroon Tide (Picayune, MS) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Salmen Spartans (Slidell, LA), 54-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Picayune upgrades its record to 14-3 on the season. The Maroon Tide travel to Albany (Albany, LA) to clash with the Hornets in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 11-6. Albany won 50-46 in their recent non-league bout against Chalmette (Chalmette, LA)

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Bogalusa Lumberjacks (Bogalusa, LA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Salmen will attempt to upgrade on its 6-10 season record. The Lumberjacks go into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 64-50 non-league loss to Phoenix (Braithwaite, LA).
