Shullsburg Miners (Shullsburg, WI) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Scales Mound Hornets (Scales Mound, IL), 67-64 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Shullsburg upgrades its record to 4-3 on the season. The Miners travel to Black Hawk (South Wayne, WI) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 0-8. Black Hawk lost 67-39 in their recent non-league bout against Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah (Elkhart Lake, WI)

Next up, the Hornets play the Benton Zephyrs (Benton, WI) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 29. Scales Mound will attempt to upgrade on its 11-2 season record. The Zephyrs go into the bout with a 0-10 record after their 79-29 non-league loss to Southwestern (Hazel Green, WI).
