White Shield Warriors (Roseglen, ND) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Wakpala Sioux (Wakpala, SD), 57-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, White Shield upgrades its record to 5-0 on the season. The Warriors travel to McLaughlin (McLaughlin, SD) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 4-2. McLaughlin won 69-34 in their recent non-league bout against Mandaree (Mandaree, ND)

Next up, the Sioux play the St. Francis Indian Warriors (St. Francis, SD) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 29. Wakpala will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 2-2 record after their 55-47 non-league loss to Santee (Santee, NE).
