Georgia High School Basketball - Academy of Richmond County nips Laney

December 28, 2023: Augusta, GA 30901

Academy of Richmond County Musketeers (Augusta, GA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Laney Wildcats (Augusta, GA), 59-58 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Academy of Richmond County upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season. The Musketeers travel to Morgan County (Madison, GA) to play the Bulldogs in a AAA Region 4 bout on Friday, January 5. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 7-7. Morgan County won 45-36 in their recent non-league bout against Ola (McDonough, GA)

Next up, the Wildcats play the North Augusta Yellow Jackets (North Augusta, SC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 29. Laney will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a 10-4 record after their 47-38 non-league loss to Thomson (Thomson, GA).
