Southland Academy Raiders (Americus, GA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Calvary Christian Knights (Columbus, GA), 48-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Southland Academy upgrades its record to 3-5 on the season. The Raiders host Valwood (Valdosta, GA) to clash with the Valiants in a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 3 bout on Friday, January 5. The Valiants go into the bout with a record of 3-3. Valwood lost 49-32 in their recent non-league bout against Lanier County (Lakeland, GA)

Next up, the Knights clash with the Shaw Raiders (Columbus, GA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. Calvary Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 9-5 record after their 49-39 non-league win over Northside (Columbus, GA).
