Columbus Cardinals (Columbus, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Edna Cowboys (Edna, TX), 57-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Columbus upgrades its record to 15-5 on the season. The Cardinals host Moulton (Moulton, TX) to clash with the Bobkatz in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Bobkatz go into the bout with a record of 16-6. Moulton won 39-27 in their recent league bout against Austwell-Tivoli (Tivoli, TX)

Next up, the Cowboys clash with the Industrial Cobras (Vanderbilt, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 25 bout, on Friday, January 5. Edna will attempt to upgrade on its 17-5 season record. The Cobras go into the bout with a 7-12 record after their 34-20 non-league win over Schulenburg (Schulenburg, TX).
