The Middletown South Eagles basketball team scored 45 points and restricted the host Toms River North Mariners to 28 in the Eagles non-league victory on Thursday.
The Eagles now sport a 2-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Allentown for a non-league contest on Wednesday, January 3. Middletown South will battle a Redbirds team coming off a 69-31 non-league loss to Westampton Tech (Westampton, NJ). The Redbirds record now stands at 0-6.
The Mariners (1-6) will now prepare for their contest against Holmdel (Holmdel, NJ). The Hornets come into the non-league contest with a 4-2 record. In their last contest, Holmdel was defeated by St. Thomas Aquinas (Edison, NJ), 56-53, in a non-league contest.
