The Massac County Patriots basketball team scored 51 points and limited the visiting Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats to 49 in the Patriots non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Patriots now have a 5-7 record. They play next when they host Carbondale for a non-league game on Saturday, January 4. Massac County will confront a Terriers team coming off a 51-45 non-league loss to McCluer North (Florissant, MO). The Terriers record now stands at 6-8.

With the loss, Anna-Jonesboro falls to 4-8 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL) to confront the Panthers in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi game on Friday, January 3. The Panthers go into the game with a record of 10-1. Pinckneyville won 77-17 in their recent non-league game against Mt. Carmel (Mt. Carmel, IL)
