In Saturday's league test, the Jefferson Mustangs (San Antonio, TX) basketball squad knocked off the host Edison Golden Bears (San Antonio, TX), by a score of 55-38.

Next, the Mustangs encounter the Highlands Owls (San Antonio, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 27 test, on Tuesday, December 31. Jefferson will attempt to improve on its 12-9 season record. The Owls come into the test with a 13-9 record after their 67-36 league win over Lanier (San Antonio, TX).

The Golden Bears (9-13) will now prepare for their test against Seguin (Seguin, TX). The Matadors come into the 5A Region IV District 27 test with a 7-11 record. In their last test, Seguin was knocked off by Brenham (Brenham, TX), 57-38, in a non-league test.
