Maine High School Basketball - Poland sneaks past Mountain Valley

The Poland Knights (Poland, ME) basketball edged the host Mountain Valley Falcons (Rumford, ME), 43-40 in Saturday's league bout.
The Knights now possess a 3-2 record. They play next when they travel to North Yarmouth Academy for a non-league bout on Thursday, January 2. Poland will play a Panthers team coming off a 97-16 league loss to Dirigo (Dixfield, ME). The Panthers record now stands at 0-6.
With the loss, Mountain Valley falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to Lincoln Academy (Newcastle, ME) to play the Eagles in a B South bout on Saturday, January 4. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 4-3.
