The McLean County Cougars basketball team scored 54 points and limited the visiting Hancock County Hornets to 44 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Cougars now possess a 4-7 record. They play next when they travel to Daviess County for a non-league game on Monday, December 30. McLean County will play a Panthers team coming off a 51-41 non-league loss to Simon Kenton (Independence, KY). The Panthers record now stands at 3-7.

With the loss, Hancock County falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The Hornets host Edmonson County (Brownsville, KY) to play the Wildcats in a non-league game on Thursday, January 2. The Wildcats go into the game with a record of 4-6. Edmonson County lost 50-48 in their recent non-league game against Marshall County (Benton, KY)
