The Oakwood Comets (Fithian, IL) basketball felled the host Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons (Gibson City, IL), 54-44 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Comets (13-4) will now prepare for their test against Hoopeston (Hoopeston, IL). The Cornjerkers go into the Vermilion Valley test with a 5-10 record. In their last test, Hoopeston thwarted Fisher (Fisher, IL), 52-35, in a non-league test.
