Nokomis Warriors (Newport, ME) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Messalonskee Eagles (Oakland, ME), 64-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Nokomis upgrades its record to 10-1 on the season. The Warriors host Lawrence (Fairfield, ME) to play the Bulldogs in a A North bout on Tuesday, January 4. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 1-4. Lawrence lost 65-58 in their recent league bout against Mt. Blue (Farmington, ME)

Next up, the Eagles play the Skowhegan (Skowhegan, ME) in a A North bout, on Monday, January 3. Messalonskee will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The go into the bout with a 4-2 record after their 60-46 league win over Lawrence (Fairfield, ME).
