Mt. Baker Mountaineers (Deming, WA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Bellingham Bayhawks (Bellingham, WA), 51-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Mt. Baker upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Mountaineers travel to Anacortes (Anacortes, WA) to play the Seahawks in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest bout on Saturday, December 31. The Seahawks go into the bout with a record of 7-1. Anacortes won 78-49 in their recent non-league bout against Kentlake (Kent, WA)

Next up, the Bayhawks play the Marysville Getchell (Marysville, WA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 30. Bellingham will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The go into the bout with a 5-2 record after their 64-50 non-league loss to Mariner (Everett, WA).
