The Firebaugh Eagles basketball team scored 42 points and held the visiting Caruthers Blue Raiders to 39 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Eagles now sport a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to McLane for a non-league contest on Friday, December 30. Firebaugh will battle a Highlanders team coming off a 85-40 non-league win over Minarets (O'Neals, CA). The Highlanders record now stands at 6-6.

The Blue Raiders (7-4) will now prepare for their bout against Minarets (O'Neals, CA). The Mustangs come into the non-league bout with a 7-8 record. In their last bout, Minarets was edged by McLane (Fresno, CA), 85-40, in a non-league bout.
