Putnam County Panthers (Granville, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Dwight Trojans (Dwight, IL), 58-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Putnam County upgrades its record to 14-4 on the season. The Panthers host Woodland (Streator, IL) to play the Warriors in a Tri-County bout on Friday, January 6. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 4-11. Woodland won 46-41 in their recent non-league bout against St. Bede (Peru, IL)

Next up, the Trojans play the Pontiac Indians (Pontiac, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Dwight will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 8-3 record after their 60-55 non-league win over West Aurora (Aurora, IL).
