Ocean Township Spartans (Oakhurst, NJ) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Hopewell Valley Central Bulldogs (Pennington, NJ), 46-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Ocean Township upgrades its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Spartans host Jackson Memorial (Jackson Township, NJ) to play the Jaguars in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Jaguars come into the bout with a record of 5-1. Jackson Memorial won 59-48 in their recent non-league bout against Red Bank Catholic (Red Bank, NJ)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Trenton Central Tornadoes (Trenton, NJ) in a Colonial Valley bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Hopewell Valley Central will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Tornadoes come into the bout with a 7-0 record after their 73-42 non-league win over Piscataway (Piscataway, NJ).
