The Walnut Ridge Bobcats (Walnut Ridge, AR) basketball nipped the visiting Hoxie Mustangs (Hoxie, AR), 53-50 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Bobcats (5-5) will now prepare for their test against Tuckerman (Tuckerman, AR). The Bulldogs go into the 3A Region 2 test with a 7-7 record. In their last test, Tuckerman was tipped by Mountain View (Mountain View, AR), 52-38, in a league test.

The Mustangs now own a 3-6 record. They play next when they travel to Mountain View for a 3A Region 2 test on Tuesday, January 3. Hoxie will encounter a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 67-24 non-league win over Green Forest (Green Forest, AR). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 9-3.
