Alcoa Tornadoes (Alcoa, TN) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones (Elizabethton, TN), 75-69 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Alcoa upgrades its record to 8-0 on the campaign. The Tornadoes travel to Knoxville Catholic (Knoxville, TN) to play the Fighting Irish in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 31. The Fighting Irish come into the bout with a record of 8-8. Knoxville Catholic won 74-51 in their recent non-league bout against Greeneville (Greeneville, TN)

Next up, the Fighting Cyclones play the Lumpkin County Indians (Dahlonega, GA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 30. Elizabethton will attempt to upgrade on its 10-4 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 13-2 record after their 60-45 non-league loss to Upperman (Baxter, TN).
