The Villa Maria Academy Hurricanes basketball team scored 57 points and held the host Episcopal Academy Churchmen to 29 in the Hurricanes non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Hurricanes now sport a 9-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Nazareth Academy for a Catholic Academies contest on Thursday, January 5. Villa Maria Academy will meet a team coming off a 47-36 non-league win over Academy of the New Church (Bryn Athyn, PA). The record now stands at 3-5.

The Churchmen (1-7) will now prepare for their contest against William Penn Charter (Philadelphia, PA). The Quakers enter the Inter-Academic contest with a 4-6 record. In their last contest, William Penn Charter was routed by George Rogers Clark (Winchester, KY), 44-37, in a non-league contest.
